It’s Not Over Til It’s Over
This is Diane.
She first came in through the doors of 143 Broadway a decade ago. She did a boot camp, way back when we were doing 6-week challenges. She did CrossFit. And then she took some time off.
We’ve been in business for 12 years. People start and people stop. And a lot of times when the stop, that’s how it stays for them. They feel embarrassed about coming back. Or like we take the break they took personally. They think that leaving once means it’s all over.
When I was in college, I did judo. I took a month off. It turned into 2 months, then into a year, then into several years. And when I came back, I was more nervous than when I started for the first time. I was sure people would be mad at me or would think I had somehow lost my way and would make comments. What actually happened is that people were super glad to see me and I got back right into training and I’ve been training almost ever since. It’s not over til it’s over.
That’s what happened for Diane. She came back and we were thrilled. And when she came back, she came back with incredible dedication.
She’s now a longtime nutrition coaching client and a staple at 6am classes. She has incredible Positive Mental Attitude, leads the charge on goofy dances, is the life of the party at gym events, and finishes runs like a champ.
She’s stronger, leaner, and faster. But also, she’s fun, witty, hard-working, generous, kind, thoughtful, and adds so much to this community.
This year, she came to her 1,000th class. It’s amazing. I am so grateful to her for her trust over the years. I am so honored to be able to watch all the amazing things she’s done. And so glad to be able to celebrate her!
