Bare Minimum Mondays
Move
Spend 10 minutes doing something physical outside this weekend—rake a few leaves, walk the dog, play with the kids, or work in the yard. Physical activity accumulated through everyday life contributes to overall health and is associated with lower mortality risk.
Eat
Make one pot of something this week that gives you leftovers—chili, soup, stew, or another favorite. Meal planning and preparation are associated with better diet quality and greater adherence to healthy eating patterns, and just about the easiest way to do it is to make extra.
Sleep
Keep your bedroom dark enough that you couldn’t comfortably read a book without turning on a light. Environmental light exposure can influence circadian rhythms, sleep, and metabolic health.
Manage
Take five minutes this week to sit somewhere quiet and do absolutely nothing productive. No phone. No podcast. No chores. Brief mindfulness practices can reduce stress and improve psychological well-being.
