Bare Minimum Mondays
Move
Do one set of 10 push-ups, wall push-ups, or incline push-ups this week. That’s it. Resistance training is an effective way to improve muscular strength and physical function, even when performed with relatively low volume.
Eat
At your next cookout or family gathering, put the food you really want on your plate (make sure it’s something that you’re actually excited about eating)—and add something nutritious alongside it. Dietary patterns emphasizing a variety of minimally processed foods are associated with better overall diet quality and health outcomes. But you don’t always have to choose between enjoying yourself and taking care of yourself.
Sleep
As summer winds down, start moving your bedtime back toward your normal schedule by just 10–15 minutes. Greater regularity in sleep timing is associated with better health outcomes, and sleep regularity is increasingly recognized as an important component of sleep health.
Manage
Take a 10-minute walk somewhere green this week (bonus points if you do it without your phone). Large-scale evidence continues to support nature-based activities as a practical way to reduce stress and improve psychological well-being.
