Whether you want to lose bodyfat, gain muscle, improve your health, get more energy, make more money, get a new job, or do any other thing that will mean your life will be different than it is right now, there’s one tactic that’s common to nearly everything.
It’s this: the price of entry is… embarrassment.
You have to be willing to feel embarrassed. (Note: you don’t have to be willing to be embarrassed or to be treated poorly or to be ridiculed or humiliated. That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying you have to be willing to feel like you have no idea what you’re doing.)
The thing that you want lies on the other side of something you’re not very comfortable with and that you’re probably not very good at.
That’s just how it works.
The things that you are comfortable with and that you are good at have brought you to where you are now. That’s great! But to get to the next thing takes different skills. That means being willing to be a beginner again. It means being willing to struggle. It means being willing to be frustrated and confused and it means willing to be bad at things.
But here’s the deal… you can do it.
Because you’ve done it before. You’ve learned new things. You’ve felt embarrassed and uncomfortable. You’ve been frustrated and confused. But you’ve learned. And you’ve grown. And here you are now.
This is a skillset you have already. The game is remembering that, and applying it again and again. Because when you do, the sky is the limit.
