Move
Do 3 sets of 10 push‑ups during breaks at work. Scale to push-ups against a desk/chair/wall. Push-ups are underrated as a phenomenal developer of upper body strength. Move through as much range of motion as possible.
Eat
Swap one sugary treat with a piece of fruit. It’s not the same. If all I want in the universe is a snickers bar and you give me a nectarine, I’ll be disappointed. But this is about small improvements to health. I’m not saying never eat a snickers bar again. I’m saying once this week, instead of candy or chocolate, grab a piece of fruit and see what happens.
Sleep
Maintain a cool bedroom (~65 °F). This might be easier said than done at the end of June. But if you are able to keep your bedroom cool, your sleep quality will almost certainly improve. Again and again, research shows that cool temperatures promote better sleep. You can read more HERE.
Manage
Take five deep breaths before sending an important email. Deep breathing aid emotional regulation and, importantly, give space to process. Especially if the e-mail (or text or phone call) falls into what you might call a “hard conversation,” adding a little deep breathing first will help.
