Bare Minimum Mondays – 02/10/25

by Michael Plank

Move
Dance to your favorite song for 5 minutes. Dancing improves cardiovascular health (obvious, boring) but is also a 2-for-1 because it nearly always helps improve your mood. (Do it with the lights off if you’re self-conscious)

Eat
Add a protein source to your afternoon snack. You don’t need to eat 500g of protein a day. But if you don’t feel like you’re nutrition is super solid, the odds are good that “more” protein is a great place to start. Aim for 15+ grams of protein in your afternoon snack.

Sleep
Use white noise or calming sounds to help you fall asleep. For some people, white noise improves sleep continuity and reduces nighttime awakenings. There are a million apps that offer this. Note: this can backfire. For some people, as close to total silence as possible is best.tps://www.sleep-journal.com/article/S1389-9457(20)30208-3/fulltext

Manage
Spend 10 minutes decluttering a small space. Research in Current Psychology suggests that decluttering reduces stress and that organized spaces create a sense of calm.
